Did a search here and didn't find anything...

Has anyone tried a Rock Mute Exhaust on ebay?

How does the size/length compare to the Yosh? (if it's shorter, it will probably be louder, which I don't want...)

Looks like it might need some modification to fit...the listing doesn't say there is a connector pipe or muffler springs included...so a muffler shop may have to bend a pipe to fit and weld on
spring hooks...but, for the money it may be worth it...

Still have the stocker on the bike...just exploring the possibilities of something lighter and a tiny bit louder.
(and wanting to tinker a bit...seems like this Yamaha almost never needs me to wrench on it ROFL

For a good value muffler, check out the delkevic. The price/sound/weight savings and reviews from other users on this forum seem to all be a very good value for the money.

I've never heard of the rock mute brand, but I'm going to take a guess based on the price, and ebay, and never hearing of that brand before that while it's cheap, it's probably not a good value.

Any end can will fit the S10, you would just have to get a link pipe, either buy or have it made. The problem is that for $90 what can you really expect in terms of longevity?

At that price, I think you should try it and let us know how it turns out!! ::001::

in terms of longevity, it's SS!!
You have to repak those things anyway after a while.

Ad says the end tip is carbon fibre water transfer. Not goin to be there long. Guess you could paint it black.

Yeah, that's just a muffler, for the price the delkevic is really the way to go, you get everything you need, it looks good and sounds great.

This. I had a pair of Delkevic slip ons on my CBR1100XX for well over 50,000 miles and they looked exactly like they did the day I bought em as they did the day I sold the bike. Fitment was completely fine, and they were just a bit louder than stock with the insert in the tip, and throaty and louder without. When I order a slip on for the S10 it will be a Delkevic. If you want to wait for a review, I'll probably be ordering here in the next few weeks. I just need to budget out a bit, as I need luggage, a seat, the pipe, and new suspension. Domestic tranquility guidelines suggest not doing all of those things at the same time :)

Thanks for that suggestion Dave...I hadn't looked at Delkevic yet...
But for $209 including connector pipe and all the parts, it looks like a possibility.
The 18 inch oval with downturn exit looks a bit long in the pic mounted on the bike compared to stock.
Maybe go with the 14 inch?
I'll eagerly look forward to your review when you get yours...

14" will melt the turn signal if mounted at the wrong angle, otherwise, it sounds wonderful and looks very nice.

I'm thinking of pulling the quiet insert to see how it sounds, because it has a growl, but is not super loud at all.

Thanks for posting your pic!

Can you post one with the heat shield re-installed so we can see how that looks please?

Thanks for posting those pics verboten1...I appreciate it.
I've thought about cutting down the stock heat shield, and painting it a darker color, even on the stock muffler as I never have passengers..

I had the Delkevic 17" carbon tri ovals on my FJR. Sounded great with the baffles removed. Looked great after 50k miles too. Just picked up my first S10 (2012), will probably get the Delk again.

The Tenere images on their website show even the 'stubby' reaching the tip of the turn signal lens. What model did you get that pulls it mostly back to the oem cover?

Don, they have removed the 14" stubby from their website, they did the same for their UK and French sites too........ but when I spoke to Delkevic, the rep suggest that I buy a 'kit' the comprises of a link pipe, hanger and then choose the end can I wanted (as the end cans are generic) and I nearly did, but found out the they are not CE or E-marked so that would mean a substantial contribution from me to the local enforcement body if and when caught.

The Rock Mute ebay muffler is listed as 15" long (38 cm)
If the Delkavic pipe is 51mm diameter, you could possibly combine parts from both suppliers and create your own system for a good price.
Have a shop weld two spring hooks to the Delkavic pipe connector for use with the ROck muffler...
(I like the look of the Rock Mute muffler...)

Anyone know the diameter of the Delkavic exhaust pipe connector?
