I can't find much info on the Aux Light connector PC-8 Package Jim has for sale for the S10 (image below). Does one lose the ability to hook-up aux lights when the aux light connector is used for the PC-8, or is it just a glorified splitter, still allowing external light connectivity?

If you lose the aux light capability down the road, I'll probably go with the rear brake as my relay power as I don't want to future-proof myself.

Thanks!

I don't see anyway in the pictured harness to maintain the factory aux light plug for future use. That said, I think you would just wire a new circuit from the fuse panel. Does the aux light circuit come on with high beam or something?

I will probably go with the rear brake light splice. That seems to leave all of the factory options there and I see no disadvantage to it.

I have the Eastern Beaver 3CS, which also uses the aux light connector. My plan was that if/when I got aux lights, I'd figure it out then.

Now I have Denali D2's, and it turns out they don't use the auxiliary connector anyway (they probably could, but not without some work). Maybe the only lights that come set up to use that connector are the OEM Yamaha ones?

@dcstrom

Good to know that the Denali's use different wiring. I initially posted this with the assumption I would just do the Yamaha Aux lights if I ever got to that fork in the road.

@avc8130

I am agree with going with the rear brake harness. Just seems cleaner even if I have to route a bit more wire to make it happen.

If you choose the PC-8 from the auxillary plug and IF I interpret the Eastern Beaver's website correctly, this kit is intended to get your switched auxillary lights going (utilizing a new circuit via the fuse block)...http://easternbeaver.com/Main/Products/Aux_Lights/aux_lights.html

Instead of main leads going to the battery, you choose the fuse block option for the Main Leads Connection when ordering.

I'm currently exploring the auxillary light options too. Info overload at this point.

My understanding is that you now have many options.

OEM aux light connector can be used.
Eastern Beaver aux light loom can go to either the battery or to say a PC-8.
Denalis come with their own loom that can go to either the battery or say a PC-8.

I have 4 Denalis running via a the Denali loom to a PC-8
PLUS
4 HIDs running via a PIAA loom to the PC-8

The purpose of EITHER the Aux Light or Brake Light lead on the PC8 fuse panel kits is simply to gather the "signal" for the relay.

Therefore, if you select the kit using the aux light connector you will simply install aux lighting as a circuit in the new fuse block. If you choose the brake light kit you will be able to use the factory aux lighting circuit still.

Exactly. I have the EB kit and installed my aux light to the PC-8 fuse block. You can opt to pull the trigger wire from the high beam if you want. You do want to use a relay, eh.

You will lose the ability to run a oem aux. light kit that plugs into the provided aux light connector, but that is not to say you can't wire it to the fuse block if you so choose. Just that you won't be able to use the factory plug.
