No idea how you get so many miles on a rear, but judging from some pics, I can speculate how hard they are run. I dislike generic forums with tire reviews who don’t post their machine details, as HP and weight seem most important. Since this is S10 forum, all these numbers should be from the same bike, so I guess the main difference is how hard you run, esp after seeing high miles from heavily loaded bikes. I know I’m aggressive, but I never guessed you could be nice enough to make anything last that long. Are these soft dirt miles?
Since I ride hard enough to scrape my boots frequently, I’m happy to pay for excellent grip. We also get sporadic cold/wet spots, so I want something good for that. Currently on Mission front and Raid rear, with no real complaints. Didn’t like the 70Rocks rear when first installed, as it seemed to follow every groove; got better with time, but not enough to try again. Switched to my current Raid which eliminated the wandering.
I seem to be getting average 7500 miles out of a rear on the S10, with a mix of highway and twisties and a little dirt on occasion. I wanna say I got closer to 6000 on the E705, but that’s unverified. I could get more street focused rubber, but the S10 is my do it all bike and I’m pretty impressed with the 80/20 tires I’ve run so far; (3)Shinko E705, (1)TKC70Rocks, (1)Trailmax Raid
Honestly, I’ve not hated any tire. My goal is safety for my riding style, which is always legal, but fast as possible in the corners.
I’m a lighter guy at 175 lbs and mostly just carry some snacks in my top case and carry on luggage when I commute.
My Raid after 3k miles. This bike is amazing!

TMM front and Raid rear is a combination I planned to try after 2pr of TMM.
From your description our riding styles are similiar with caveat that I ride 2up 50+% of time and I dial it back then.
I have been very happy with Pirelli STR’s and have settled on them for now.
Front 12000miles and counting. Rears 7-8000.

I’ve got a tmm sitting in the shop waiting a mount. They are heavy tires with a lot of tread. My observation.

I’m considering changing from Anakee wilds to Trailmax Raids next. I’m now spending most of my time on blacktop but still want some off road capabilities just in case. Any opinions welcome

The Trailmax Raid is NOT the tire you want.
They are great for off-pavement traction, but wear very quickly on pavement. They are also a bit "squirmy" on pavement.

I would honestly go with Trailmax Mission if you are mostly blacktop.
They are still plenty capable in the dirty stuff.

I have a DR650 with the oem knobbies. Course it is lighter and all that stuff, on the highway is no problem with the tires. They do wear fast, 2500 american miles and they are about half shot. Cornering I keep in mind what I am riding on. Think you can ask yourself, you want to ride slower on pavement or gravel? The more aggressive tread will pick up stuff and throw it on your bike or try to wedge between the tire and fender. Less aggressive tread on gravel is like riding on marbles over about 35 mph. The knobs on the DR don't make any noise surprisingly. When the sipes are across the tire with big blocks is when they start to whine.

Just my things I've noticed welcome to jamaica opinion.

Ya, new record for me. Mostly pavement riding and I run the pressure to 45psi.
Out of curiosity, why such high pressure? 2-up and loaded??
Can't wrap my head around that kind of mileage on a tire.

With tire wear I imagine it is a question of what material is being ridden on. I do some walking on the concrete bike paths and the texture of the concrete is like walking on sand paper, I can go through soles pretty quick, vs smooth blacktop or dirt.
