I thought we were speaking in generalities about tire tests and riding styles and personal preference ... at least that's what I responded to.He says that he turns off TC and ABS for tire tests.

Here you go:Jeckyll - where did you get the whole north america map? I have each separate but not both areas in one.
I came off the Shinko 804/805's and got about 14,000km out of them. I have about 5000 km on the Trail Max Missions now. They hardly seem to have any wear on them. Like you I found the price a bit hard to swallow but for the mileage they seem to be working out. I can send a picture tonight if you want to see what they look like.Anybody wear a set of these out?
I'm running shinko 705's right now, cause i'm cheap. If these get enough additional mileage (705's look to be hitting 5k/10k miles r/f) then i can justify the ROI.
JK i'll likely try them anyway, but i'd like to know what to expect on our aircraft carrier sized dual sport bikes.....
I wouldn't mind taking a look. Hoping to find a few folks who have worn a set out at least once... Price isn't too terrible. I was running 705s on an airhead gs. Those tires were 110 bucks a pair. That was great. The big radials on the death star are closer to 200 a pair already.I came off the Shinko 804/805's and got about 14,000km out of them. This is with 5782 km on them. About 20% of that has been on the dirt with TCS offI wouldn't mind taking a look. Hoping to find a few folks who have worn a set out at least once... They are very squirmy in mud.deep slick mud
Yeah, our crappy ass, chip seal roads suck ass. People put pictures of dirt roads on here that are in better shape than our paved ones.Note: My rain experience may be caused by the lack of rain on Texas roads so when we do get rain the roads are really slick with oils, antifreeze, etc...
One of the main reasons I don't ride in the rain. When I was stationed in San Diego, I fell in love with their rain grooved concrete; always had good traction. I use Hankook ATm tires on my Jeep. Great wet traction. . . . until the Texas heat turns them in rocks. They get replaced way before they wear out. Bike tires will do the same thing though.. . . . I’ve never had a tire that was good on them.
