I looked at a set today in the store.. very tempted. There is no relay, and there is no trigger wire.. you wire them to the battery, they are live all the time.. no good.I will power them from the Fuzeblock and figure something out for the hokey pokey bush league switch setup.

I'd like to see how you mounted them, will the included mounts line up with the holes below the stock headlights?

We'd love to see pics of how you mounted the switch.. ::024::

OK ... here goes. You are correct ... the set up on these is direct wired to the battery. There is no allowance to render them inoperable with the ignition off. I'm sure someone much cleverer than myself could rig them to do that. The places I generally travel, this is not a great concern. Should it become such on a rare occasion, I would simply reach underneath the switch and pull one of the wires off. I mounted the switch on one of BWC's fancy schmancy dash thingys, which he was kind enough to send me. Highly recommended for stuff like this. He does a beautiful job and it was a perfect fit. I painted mine red. He primes them so you can do whatever.

Here are some pics. They are Rigid Industries Dually lights. 1300 lumens, 15 watts. Bright little suckers. Metal housing. Some 1" crash bar mounts. I had to adapt a bit as the bolt attached to the light was 5/16", and the slot in the mounts was 1/4". The light is set up for a carriage bolt. But the head of a 1/4" carriage bolt is too small for the light and rotates around in the light mount slot. So I bought some good quality 1/4" bolts, washers and lock washers. It aint' all that purty, but it's one solid sucker.

Please, no snickering. I've never done anything like this before on my on. I'm always had talented help with most of my projects. I'm a fish biologist, not a creative, ingenious, mechanical type of guy. I'm a bit of a numbnuts in that department, as you likely have already figured out.
I don't even know if they are in a good spot ... I wanted them on the crash bars, so I was limited. I moved them to the inside a bit so that in case of a whammy, they should not receive the brunt of the pavement/gravel contact.
Let's be gentle ...... R ::001:: ::012:: ::012:: ::018:: ::020:: ::022:: ::021::

Looks good REM. A friend of mine has those same lights, and they are definitely a flood/fog pattern, so I definitely agree with mounting them low. He leaves the yellow, clip-on lenses on most of the time because he gets high beam flashed at him a bunch while running just the clear lenses.

Well, I didn't know that was a good thing, but glad I did it that way. yep, they are foggies.

There's an idea. I have covers ordered. I didn't realize there were clip-on lenses. I'll look into it .... not the lights, the lenses. Thanks. R

My wife made me some fancy schmancy coverings for them, in case it's really muddy or something. Elastic and drawstring equipped. I like 'em ... she's a good bear. R ::008:: ::008::

Well, wine is always good. But yes, fish do procreate in water. They also defecate and urinate in water. Fortunately, due to various biochemical activities, like the Nitrogen Cycle and the Krebs Cycle and numerous other biological and chemical reactions, by-products of the aforementioned activities are assimilated and broken down into harmless and helpful substances, thus rendering the water safe to drink. In most cases. It is far more dangerous due to human activities than anything the fish do in it. You heard it here first. May the fish be with you R

::008:: I'm off for a ride on my Krebs Cycle to think about how we can turn water into wine
