Dropped bike, destroyed windshield brackets

Well, this just happened to ruin a perfectly good Sunday. Trying to get my ST10 up on the center stand (I know, it's supposed to be easy) the bike fell over on it's right (non side-stand side). Fell into my shed. I thought that was good new because the blinker was spared and the guards did their thing, but it severely bent my Madstad-like (amazon knock-off) brackets and actually seems to have rippled off the OEM brackets. The OEM windshield is not damaged. I'm thinking of re-attaching it to the bottom holes in each side since the top two are gone, for the time being, and watch it carefully (My commute is mainly highway). I assume the whole thing is not a DIY fix, but should probably go to a dealer and have them replace all the damaged OEM parts. Thanks for any suggestions. Hope these pics are clear

Very sorry to see this, i quit trying to put any motorcycle on centerstand when it was parked close to anything that could possibly damage it If it managed to somehow get away from me.

Yeah, thanks! I watched an ST10 video, the manual, or all sorts of other tips, and no go. I know it’s not a strength thing, but for the record I’m over 6 feet and about 200 pounds so it can’t be that. Just maddening. I almost wonder if perhaps it’s damaged

Thanks, Rob. One more question...by "Stay" do you mean the side brackets or the cross bar from the previous bracket?

The stay mounts the whole windshield and headlights to the frame. Hard hit to windshield will likely break it too. Hard to see as it is buried behind everything. If the brackets move its probably cracked.

There are a couple of people here with parts bikes; find and reach out to them. Definitely a DIY.
1. The stay is not that expensive and you don't know whether a previous owner did something which may've weakened the plastic. Not hard to replace but takes a while to undress the front and then hang all the pieces again. Sorry but this does happen from time to time.

2. Check the weldment when replacing the stay.

3. This is one reason I have never been a fan of the metal stay braces meant to reduce windshield vibes, because they restrict the flexibility of the front stay and add hard points.

4. Thread moved to the bodywork sub-forum.

That is definately the stay that is broken where the windshield mounts. It is quite possible the stay is also cracked where it mounts behind the headlight assembly. It is quite a piece of engineering. It has a bunch of connectors and attachments which make it a little time consuming to replace. You can often do a temporary patch if parts are delayed.

Heaps of downwards force with left boot on center stand foot tab/lever as you pull bike backwards. Easier if you have preload jacked up. Side stand up before you drop back off center stand!

So this where I am now. I’ve bonded the two main parts of each arm of the stay back together and have reattached the windshield at the higher setting. Not bad, and I think it’ll hold because the bottom two holes were not broken off. I’ve ordered Stay 1, part #23, but might not install it if this holds. I was using the ram mount on the MadStad crossbar but also have a quad lock fork mount which is excellent Any thoughts? Thanks for all your help
