While changing tires I noticed an issue with one of the drive bushings. The small piece of rubber that connects two of the wedges had broken. Do I need to replace this or can I just put it back in and not worry about it?

Thanks

What they said. They do eventually get tired and don't absorb impact as well. IIRC, there is a recommended interval to change them. That said... I have the original ones on my Super Ten at 98k now...

I did replace the wife's on her GS at about 80k because they were noticeable dry and cracking. I haven't looked at mine in a long time because I installed a tin plate over them to hold the hub in place during wheel removal, sort of like is stock on the FJR.
