Did a search on this but no results. Bike came with the OEM aluminum skidplate (aware of the rep but it works well on my commute ). Just wondering if I need to remove it to change the oil/filter. Thanks for the heads-up.

Just used this method, worked great. ::012::Wanderer said:Howdy,
Some thing I stumble upon during my last oil change. Being a bit tired from the day but not wanting to lose all that heat in the oil from the just completed ride I put her on the side stand, stuck the pan under the drain plugs and pulled both. Left her there to drain overnight. Next morning I went down and as usual pulled the OEM plastic engine gaurd to drain the filter. Lo and behold the filter was bone dry! Not a drop of oil came out. So in the future I'll try to arrange my changes so I can let her sit overnight and will not pull the engine gaurd.
Later,
