Yes.

Dry river beds and rutted 2-track are about my limit on the Tenere, and that's 2-up with luggage. I have smaller displacement dual-sport bikes that are better suited to dirt due to having longer suspension, higher ground clearance, and lower weight. I usually ride one of them when dirt is the target and I'm solo, but they won't haul my preferred payload nor are they preferable for long-range adventures.

I continue to be impressed and a little surprised at how well the Super Tenere goes in the rough stuff. It has tractor-like qualities that propel it with more ease than expected and where you think it might not go. You still have to be mindful of the ground clearance limitation and the weight penalty. Sometimes I have to give it the leeway to go where it wants to go since I'm only an average-skill rider. For the most part, it's pretty forgiving when I can't keep it on the preferred line. Just remember to set traction control back to TC2 when you start up off pavement.

The bike was short of 600 miles on these pictures...I know I know, it isn't quite "off road" but not much else in Florida, except from some stairs at the gas station, curbs...grass around the apartment complex...

I have always wanted to ask you where that Avatar picture was taken.
Now I don't want to know, don't need the temptation. :D

I still want to see some pictures from that Frog Bayou ride.

When I use the term "Off Road" that's just what I'M talking about.

Steve that looks to much like work for my skill level. This is my speed

You "mature" dirt guys can ride!
I have a pretty good skill level, but an aversion to 600lbs falling over :p So I like what you are riding better.

Where are those photos? Looks like around here.

I have a WR250R that just sits because the Tenere is way more fun off road to ride.
Yup... sounds familiar. My WRR only gets ridden when I am headed to the most in-hospitable of terrain and even then... only with an eye on honing my technique so I can ride the same kind of terrain later on the Tenere.

Limey, is THAT pic the undoing of your ABS unit?

You're a crazy dude. I love it!

And yes, you guys are 100% correct every time you state there are better bikes to do this stuff on. I completely agree.
But, I can only ride one bike at a time.
So, if I'm on the Tenere, then the Tenere it is. ::013::

No reason to skip that days offer of adventure.

Mine gets used as a true trail bike, with or without luggage. The only limitations Ive found are ground clearance and the fact it's too heavy and powerful for crazy steep trails.

I don't have any desire to take any bike truly off road, large rocks and river beds; etc, but the odd fire road appeals to me.........unfortunately, in this part of Europe, where they happen to have some really great fire trails, motor vehicles of any sort are prohibited, only horses and bikes ::019::

Going offroad, but not gonna be retarded about it. Rumbux on the way to my door right now. I like to go camping and do some easy trails in the Alberta foothills. That's the whole reason I didn't buy a Concours 1400 or an FJR.

Never, that is what I have a 2006 KTM 300 for. I'm in South Florida, not much of any dirt roads that would be fun to ride. So when ever time and weather permits, I take the pumpkin bike to the MX track and ride in circles for a couple of hours. My Super T, aka Bertha hardly even see's the rain...........................

Looks like some of the riding sites in Northern Virginia. I hate that crap even on an ATV.
Mount Velebit, watching over the Croatian coast. This is just a short "filter" for the oncoming "rally".
Here we separate boys from men.

I have a similar one, but nothing matches the 200mls outing with the Big Ten.
It's all about exploring new places, while i use the "small" one just for excerice, coz I hate the gym.

The biggest issue with the 600lb bike are this trails which end up nowhere, and there's no space to turn around. Not a good situation to be alone.

I sure as heck go off-road. Here's a video of me riding in the sand and failing miserably. To top it off, I killed my radiator fan. I replaced the fan and am back to going off-road! Sand is stupid hard to ride on. Dirt, gravel, and grass are much easier.

If I wasn't planning on going off-road, I would've bought a Sport Touring bike instead.
Sand is definitely the Achilles Heel of the ST...with the low and forward weight, the front tire just tends to plow into the soft stuff. It's tough to do, but sand requires momentum and keeping your weight as far back as possible to try to unweight the front wheel. It takes some courage to tackle sand on this bike!

It's on the CBCDR just after the 2013 Ouray gathering. There is a picture of that water crossing on the Buttler map but i have misplaced my map. So I don't know where it was.
