::002:: I'll just start with that... lol

I know there are lots of post on AUX lighting, I've read an absolutely ton of them and I think that might be my problem, info overload!!!

I was involved in a car accident Dec of last year and finally got my pay out :) So I'm looking to upgrade the bike a little bit. I found https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/denali-d4-20-trioptic-led-light-kit-with-datadim-technology these and I like the looks of them but also saw on the forum that https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/baja-designs-squadron-pro-universal-led-lighting-kit these are also a very solid choice and come with life time warranty. The D4 2.0 lights have a S10 mount but it appears as thought they mount under the head lights which won't give me that wider profile I'm after. I've searched around and I don't see any 1" adapters that I could use to mount them to my crash bars.

What I'm wanting to get from the lights:
-Wider profile / Safety
I'd really like the lights to be mountable on the AltRider Crash Bar to make me a little larger to cars. I do live in San Diego so I do a fair amount of lane splitting at times.

-Illumate off the side of the bike
The stock headlights are god awful when trying to corner in the dark. I'd like the light to produce a good amount of light off to the sides so I can actually see the road.

-No blinding
Whatever light I choose I'd like to not blind everyone I'm behind or coming towards. I know that might be harder done then said, and I'm assuming that at some level I will be a little blinding.

Any feedback is much appreciated. I have a general understanding of wiring, but I will be taking whatever I purchase into the dealer and having them do it. Or maybe I can find someone local that will do it for a case of beer :D

I just installed SW-Motech EVO Fog Lights on my Touratech crashbars using the SW-Motech Kit Hawk clamps. The fog lamps disperse the light rather than give a narrow beam.

rigid industries sells different mounts ,check out their site . I have their lights and mounts on my alt rider bars , works great.... the denali lights a pretty similar in design as the rigid lights , so their mounts will probably work just fine.... some 4 wheeled parts dealers carry rigid and you can get the mounts through them .... you will find them ... I have four rigid lights mounted on my bike , 2 under head light ( mount from twisted throttle ) and 2 mounted on the alt rider bars , rigid mounts I got through 4 wheeled dealer near me.

Here's a nice mount (in my opinion, but full disclosure, it's what I have on my bike): https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/denali-auxiliary-light-mount-yamaha-xt1200z-super-tenere-2011-2016 . I did have the lights mounted on the front forks but found that the constant twisting on the wires eventually caused one of the connectors to get a bit unreliable. I think this mount still gives a pretty good spread.

My lights are Clearwater Kristas. Very powerful and fit fine on the Denali light mount. They come with a full range dimmer, so you can set the brightness as you want for any conditions, including full on and full off. If they are on, even at the lowest brightness, they go to full brightness automatically with the high beams (or the horn, although I don't have that wire connected since I rarely bother to honk my horn when someone's coming straight at me, since I have better things to do). I like the round style. They are a bit pricey, but I like them enough that I just picked up another set for another bike. The installation instructions are excellent and the Clearwater folks are very responsive and helfpul if you have any questions. https://www.clearwaterlights.com/collections/featured/products/krista

Initially I tried the Baja Designs (group buy several years ago), but the add-on dimmer options are not comparable to the Clearwater dimmer (and I like the Clearwater look). I had an earlier version of a Skene dimmer, https://www.skenelights.com/online-store/Auxiliary-Light-Dimmers-c22720603). It was great, but limited to a small number of brightness levels and required multiple switches to get even those.

Lots of good choices out there. Whatever you pick, you won't go wrong.

Good luck!

I had a set of 10W LED Spots on my handlebars using Tabasco's mounts. Wired them up with the Skene controller, so that they would always be on without dazzling anyone, yet I could take them to 100% with a flick of the high-low switch. When I was still commuting, they seemed to help with visibility, and having them higher up on the bike seemed to catch more attention.

Thanks guys!

Yes I have seen quite a few bikes recently that have their lights up on their bars around their mirrors, saw one this morning infact. It defiantly catches the eye more because the light is hitting peoples mirrors and its odd to have lights in that position.

Think I'm going to go with the D4's and the mount from revzilla, I've done some picture searching and I think that mount will do alright. I've been pondering about buying the Dual-Intensity Controller so I can lower the power going out. I guess it would help with night time driving not to blind people, but during the day I always run with my hi-beams.

Funny story, this morning was a little cloudy so not the full SD sun. This guy in front of me in a smaller size pickup flips his mirror at the light, then basically cuts off the guy in the other lane mid intersection. He then proceeds to roll down his window, flip me off, and yell that my brights are on.... Could only image if I had the D4's installed :D
