My new-to-me 2010 S10 has a Delkevic slip on that has been burning up my indicator. I've just repositioned it, hoping someone who knows a bit more about exhaust positioning can give advice if it looks good or if i might run into problems.

Here's how it was:

The indicator (covered in foil tape, kind of hidden behind the pannier frame) is pulled up out of the way as otherwise it was getting very burnt on the underside

This is how I've adjusted it - moved the clamp down point the tip down more. indicator is sitting normally in this position, has much more clearance and exhaust flow looks like it will come out well underneath. I basically just loosened off the two clamps (midpipe connects to headers near left hand footpeg, where muffler connects to midpip) and the mount screws, and moved it around to the new position, then tighted everything back up.

The first concern that comes to mind is that the exhaust is now supported a lot further forward - previously the hanger was in the middle, now it is at the forward 1/3 position. Is this likely to cause any stress cracking from having too much unsupported at the end? Would it be worth making a longer hanger so I can move the support back to 1/2 way or even 2/3 of the way along?

Is there anything else anyone can spot that might cause me problems?

I have a Delkevic mounted per your second photo. Probably got 60-70,000 miles on it that way. No problems. I have the silencer in place, which I think diffuses the heat better then running sans silencer.
