Naw, the ST 1300 prefers 4-laners. Actually, if I ended up with a white Tenere, I'd probably lose it in the snow most of the year. I guess black is better. But either color 'snow good to me now.

The Yukon Territorial bird is a Raven, so what else can I do ??? R

Has anyone heard if the accessories are delayed as well?
I know that Yamaha Canada has Tenere accessories in stock. I have gotten the headlight cover, LED signals and Tuareg (sp?) tank protector.

The cockroach is the Florida state bird ??? Damn. That's impressive. Sort of .....

Okay, moving back to delivery dates. I think "late" is the best guess. R

I have alot of respect for all of you who are going to wait for your bike to show, I think it will be worth it, in the end. I just bought a new triumph Tiger today, cancelled my Tenere so my choice is made up, good luck to all future Tenere owners...

I'm in for the duration. This bike is perfect for my intended use of two up touring. Just have to wait a bit longer!

This news really bums me out. In the fall I was going back and forth between the ST and a Multistrada and the scales tipped towards ST. Now that I can get my deposit back I am going MTS.

Does anybody know if the customer is going to receive a letter from Yamaha or are we to wait till we are informed by our dealer about getting refunded?

I heard that you should go through the dealer that has your deposit, they have the form that has to be sent to Yamaha.

Good choice on the Tiger. That would be my choice as well.

Here is the letter and the form to fill out.....

Think I'm going to wait it out...few months of waiting and multiple years of a quality bike...not a tough decision.... :)

Wow! Not a very good day for S10 owners. From what I’ve read on every posting everyone wants this motor, right now. I have a lot of respect for those who unlike myself, put money down on something, they only read about or seen on a youtube video. This catastrophe in Japan keeps getting worst and worst for those expecting something from Japan. Today, before I read the forum postings about the news, I went to my local Yamaha dealer looking for a Zuma 125 for a friend of mine at work and possibly myself. After shooting the breeze with the shop owner about the zuma. I told him about my obsession about the tenere and that’s when he dropped the bomb on me.

“November…. during the winter is when the tenere is suppose to get here!”

I feel for you all that have an order with Yamaha. With the upcoming summer and fall to get on and ride a motorcycle you’ve already waited a long time for. Me, personally, I’m going to wait it out. This motorcycle from what I’ve read and seen can do everything!
Best regards for those who canceled their orders. When things turn around in Japan, I guess I’ll get mine a little sooner.

Thanks!

Does the dealer cut the check or does Yamaha mail it out?

The dealer should give you the money and Yamaha will post the money to the dealers account.

I'm sticking with my order regardless of the delay. I considered trading my V-Strom 1000 for an R1200GS for a long time and am so happy to have (eventually) the XT1200Z instead. A few months more delay is no big deal and the Strom is a decent ride til then. I am happy to give my loyalty to Yamaha and the Japanese who have suffered so much.

I've been out of an area that has wireless for several days and was not able to get on the forum. Sad news indeed, but considering what Japan has gone thru (is going thru), our delayed delivery is pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

I will keeping my order in place, without a doubt.

:)
