I didn't find the troublesome bolt very troublesome at all. A normal alken key got it, it's just a bit of a slow process undoing it. ECU now off and packaged up ready to go tomorrow. It's a bit nerve wracking sending something that costs £1700 through the post. Hope to have it back in by next weekend :)

I will find watching my bike being caned on the dyno for its custom setup even scarier I think ???

Had many bikes on the dyno over the years, and some bikes on a dyno many times, but the sound is so different to when your riding one and I always find it quite scary - no rationale as I would happily spend a whole day caning the bike on track, but that 5-6 second dyno run always worries me.

ECU arrived safely in Jersey. Mike says he'll flash it later today and get it back in the post tomorrow. In theory I should have it back on Thursday but apparently customs in Heathrow seem to take their time so it might be Friday. I hope I have it before the weekend so i can try it out, although the weekend weather is looking a bit dodgy at the moment :(

Mike is the man to speak to at Velox (link below). Great comunications, fast and efficient service and great value.

I had my first test ride, post re-flashed ECU, today.

1st, 2nd and 3rd gear performance is much snappier. Pulls a lot harder and cleaner up to the red line. There is a more pronounced difference between T mode and S mode. It's now worth having the two settings. Chill-out 'T' and sporty 'S'....................it works for me. I specified a tune for a standard bike with no modifications and just asked for the best flash to give good tourque. It seems spot on to me.

I was unsure if it was worth doing the ECU re-map. I was quite happy with the performance I had with my 2012 model S10. In the end I figured that the relatively small cost was worth a try. It was a good move. The bike is spot on now.

I am another one that didn't think there was anything wrong with the standard bike but how wrong was I? ECU received in post on Friday. Excellent service and turnround from Mike at Velox. Fitted it Saturday morning and took the bike for a test ride this morning. Wow what a difference! This really is how it should have been originally. It pulls better from standstill right through to the red line. Everything is smooth and linear and just seems so right. T mode is now useful as a smooth comfortable touring mode or for wet roads and S mode really is sporty. It seems as if the original performance had lots of lumps, bumps and gaps in it and the flash has filled and smoothed it all out. I'm looking forward to next weekend so that I can get some more miles in. It's like having a new bike ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺
