Cyclops Headlamp LED flickering

I've had Cyclops headlights on my bike since 2017 and had to replace them once. Cyclops told me it was a heat issue and suggested running them without the plastic caps/covers. I haven't done that -- yet. Awhile back I noticed the right front headlamp flickers on low beam and I'm wondering if anyone else has had that problem or knows of a fix. I should probable remove the LED setup and reinstall it, but it's such a PIA I thought I post here and get a little more information before I head out to the shop.
Thanks!

That sounds like a bad idea. Sounds like an admission of design flaws. Keep their covers and loose their limited life bulbs. Try these.

What caps do you have on?….oem?…or extended caps?…….maybe the oem cap left little space for the heatsink. But if you say you have had them on since 2017, what kind of heat sink did they have?

They are the later version. I got them in 2020. Checking a little further, I see the flickering goes away at higher rpm and only comes on at low. Might be normal.

I had one of my caps fall off. By the time I noticed. I had ridden in the rain and got some funk inside the assembly that I can see from the front looking inside the unit. One of my cyclops fizzed out right after the warranty expired. The other one went a little later. NEVER AGAIN. They advertised them to last a bazillion hours.

I had no luck with cyclops or any of the other LED choices. Either they burn out faster than a conventional bulb or their light output is weak. Ended up going HID instead.

They are a Morimoto kit off of Amazon. Yes, they’re definitely more work to install than a simple bulb swap. You have to find room for the relays, ignitors and ballasts. The HID bulbs work particularly well with the projector type housings though.
