Cruise Control Switching Off

A first world problem here.

I have a problem in that the switching off of the cruise control results in the abrupt slow down of the bike. The cruise works fine otherwise. I can stop this from happening by accelerating before I switch off the cruise. Is this normal behavior?

I found the same thing and have heard it is normal.
Apply throttle to match cruise and tap clutch lightly. Works like a charm.

Yes it is. My method is accelerate as I tap the back brake; minimally invasive. Motor stays engaged, cruise stays on, but disengages. That way, I can either accelerate, resume or choose a new speed.
