I spoke to person who flashed. Yes they are aware of my model and that it has cruise. But they said they don't touch anything that would impact cruise? I had it flashed prior to me installing Arrow headers myself since it was going to be quite some time before i would receive them.
Here is a bit of info of what transpired:
- I damaged my OEM Headers while camping. On way home if i tried to use cruise it would work a bit, then bike would stall. So i did not use for a few weeks.
- I decided that i would get the ECU flashed and Replace my OEM headers with Arrow headers as well as K&N Air Filter.
- I had to drive 5 hours to where i could get it flashed, i did this while my Arrow headers were on order. They flashed assuming the bike would have Arrow headers with K&N Filter. They had done same bikes previously
- After flash but before K&N Filter, it appeared my cruise was working. Worked for a few days. I assumed it had something to do with ECU and Air/Gas mix of something.
- I installed K&N Air filter. Cruise no longer worked. I then assumed again because it was gettin more air but the ECU was flashed for Arrow headers that i had not installed yet, that was the reason
- I received and installed Arrow headers. Cruise still does not work.
- I then contacted the person who flashed my ecu telling them what happened. They said what they did to the ECU has nothing to do with cruise and it would have been coincidental that the cruise was on and off through these fchanges. They indicated maybe something was loose due to when i initially damaged my OEM Headers.
- I then reached out to this forum for help. Read about a front brake switch recall causing a lot of people the same issue.
- I contacted a dealer, had the front brake switch replaced. Still no cruise
so now i've checked all the other switches with Built in diagnostics. since all the diagnostic tests for brakes, clutch, stand worked and the test including those and throttle did not, i thought maybe it is related to the throttle switch
Checked Throttle position sensor with multimeter (within spec.). Pulled throttle switch and put multimeter on the appropriate pins based on service manual. I get inconsistent reading, not sure if I'm just not touching or getting contact or there is a short so it is in and out.
I've orderd a new throttle switch should come in a week. I will then install, redo diagnostics to see if it fixes Diag 82.
