Cran Case Vent, lesson learned

I finally changed my air filter at 30k miles (way too long I know) and found a lot of oil in the air box. I noticed some in the separator and kind of forgot about it.
Anyone else seen this? Any reason for concern or recommendations (other than changing the filter more often. And yes I still need to change plugs andcheck the valves. Plan ondoing plugs next weekend. I'll leave the valves for the dealer this summer.

I had a good amount of oil in the air box as well but mine was much darker than that. I tend to use engine braking alot so don't know if that would affect that any.

I just check that little bulb/drain point for the air box at each oil change now. I am working on a longer fuel hose with a valve installed at the end to make it easier to drain.

In 13k miles I'd only checked mine once and it had just a few drops... after reading this post decided to check it again and it had a bit of nasty looking stuff in there and poured out. I had a Valkyrie once and it had a long hose going to the bottom of the bike w/plug that made it much easier to drain, not sure why Yam didn't do that and have it exit along with the other two hoses on the front left.

Don't rev it so much. Ya gotta keep the R's below 3k to minimize the oil vaporization. O:)
