No matter what I do I cannot get the seat to lock in with the key. Suggestions or anyone with experience?

Thank you

did you transfer the latch mechanism?? that is all I can think of, or maybe that the mech is facing the wrong way? No clue

Besides transferring the latch thingie, when I had my Corbin (for about 24 hours before I sold it), I found that I had to put a washer under it before tightening it down so that it would stick down a bit farther and latch properly.

do you have the single seat, or front and rear?
Corbin completely cocked the design up, if you have both seat, the rear seat pushes on the front preventing it
from latching.
I ran my corbin with out the rear seat, and had no issues with latching, the minute the stock rear (or rear corbin)
went on, it would not latch.

Try taking the rear seat off (two bolts), and try latching the front corbin.
your bracket may need either a washer or devine intervention... ::014::
I sold the corbin (did not like the seating position) and bought a sargent, no issues

I have the corbin front and rear. Sounds like it won't lock in. I may try and make a new latch. The wife likes the rear seat so I will probably keep them both and swap out when the wife rides. Seating position for me is quite nice and works well. With the Prudoe Bay trip coming up in June I need a comfortable saddle.

Thank you all for the help. Only problem I have had with the bike in a year and 11k miles. Cannot complain too much.

Thanks again

I got a new to me Corbin Friday and at first it would not latch. I took it off to look at at shimming it down a bit and tried again and it locked up rock solid. I would try putting a washer under the latch. I can't imagine it is anything worse than that. I'm only about 100 miles in but I am digging mine too.

the rear corbin makes things very hard for the front seat, it pushes it too far to the front of the bike.
Like I said, try it without the rear, and it should latch in no problems.
I did email corbin about it, for their feedback, but never heard back, surprise surprise..
best of luck,

greg

I have had to shim or otherwise modify every Corbin seat I've had.

My last was one I ordered for my ST1100 and wasted hours the day before a big road trip trying to make it fit properly. That and it never broke in the way Corbin claims (it was still like sitting on a brick after 20k miles).

Never again.

Managed 27K on my Corbin this year! Locks right in like it was factory made, every time! Couldn't imagine riding a mile without it. Other than tranferring the locking mech off the stock seat, had no modifications to make. I would buy another without hesitation.

I have the Corbin rear seat with back rest, stock front seat. The holes in the mounting bracket for the two bolts don't line up properly, as if the seat/pan is too long. I elongated the holes, now it fits. I only mount the Corbin when my wife rides with me, but she likes the seat and back rest, so it's a keeper.

Since I don't want the leather to rot in the sun while the bike is parked at work all day, I mostly keep the stock rear seat in place. Not only that, my Givi top box won't fit with the back rest on. It's always something
