Howdy folks.

Cleaning down the bike today & noticed the coolant resevoir cap beside rear shock was loose.

I pressed it closed, no problem there.

The level is at the "low" marker on the tank.

As there is only 3k kms on it im wondering did some spill out somehow.

Any ideas or opinions?

I will check with dealer but will top it up during the week.

I'd fill to the high mark and keep an eye in it for a while. Probably nothing to be alarmed about unless the level drops after you know it was full.

Mine cap has not come loose but but the coolant does vary in height in the container based on hot or cold engine. Not a huge amount but I agree keep an eye on it.

Another name for that bottle is a surge tank. On a cold engine all the coolant that's going to get pulled back into the system should be there and the bottle will read on the low end. After an engine has warmed fully, the coolant will have expanded, surged, to it's max and the bottle will read closer to the max line. Filling the bottle to the full mark when cold will result in the bottle surging over the top on a hot engine.
Oh, and that bottle is not under any pressure.

Tks agian for that.

When the bike is cold the level is very slightly over the " LOW " marker. Will have a look where its at when its actually at running temp while ticking over.

I'll be back 8)
