I was preparing my ST16 for a ride when my friend spotted liquid on my right boot... it was coolant coming out from the main hoce just above the clamp... My ride has only 1300Km... 700mi I just did the first service and I'm sure the hoce was not damaged.... I'll take it to the dealer tomorrow. Has anyone experience something similar? (a hole in the hose)

Yours is a first report. Is it actually a hole, or is the clamp not tight?

I don't know if the exhaust pipe, just forward of the hose connection, is supposed to look dented like that or not, but it almost looks like the bike took some kind of impact right in that area, deforming the pipe and damaging the hose?

Check with the dealer to see if they still have the crate your Tenere came in. Check it for damage.

thanks.. no impact no damage no nothing out of thin air... the clamp is ok... the leakage is above the clamp a few millimeters. Sadly in Ontario (Canada) Yamaha do not have spare main radiator hose!! unbelievable... waiting for the dealer solution....

The coolant hose looks like a curved piece of regular cooant hose.... Nothing special.

Take it off and bring it your local auto parts store. See if they can find something similar to hold you over until you can order a proper one. I know my local Napa would have something like that in stock that could be cut down and made to fit close enough to work.

You could go to the auto parts store, and get one of those hose tapes as a temporary fix. Should last you until the new one comes in.

After 1 week waiting for the part shipped from Japan!! to Ontario (CA) the dealer called me and tomorrow I might have the bike ready. Again no crash the hose was never touched. The dealer has a theory, that a Rock might hit the hose when it was hot and easily punch a hole.... I'm a careful driver and the bike is an extension of my body, and will notice something like that... My theory is that it was a faulty hose and the hole is from the inside part... Tomorrow will get the final verdict.

BTW driving back the bike 15km to the dealer remind me why I bought a Super Tenere!... love this bike!.

Are you flipping for the hose?
Your dealer sounds like he is FOS! ::007::
The hole seems more to the side of the hose than the front, sort of like saying somebody committed Suicide with a bullet hole too the the back of the head.
