Crikey, that must be gettin' close to a record for May ? Just out of interest how many degrees North are you (I'm 55 degrees North at Newcastle) ? In the UK we are a lot further North than people realize; only the Gulf Stream effect stops us from freezing up... And 80F doesn't happen that often either !

Whitehorse, Yukon is about 61 degrees north. I am not sure if rem lives there or more to the north.

So almost in the Tropic's then ;)

Actually I've been watching a few documentaries about Alaska on the telly lately, Alaska State Troopers, Railroad Alaska & Wild Alaska. It's a beautiful place for sure, but it takes a bit to get used to how far apart some of the towns are and how remote a place some of these 'off grid' people live.
