I have a new Continental Road Attack II rear tire from my previous bike. It is 180 wide vs the 150 wide that is stock on the ST. Anybody tried that wide of tire on the stock rim? I am also wondering about clearance issues.

As small a gap that is between the caliper brace, and the tire. . . . I don't think the 180 would fit.

I had initially planned on going to wider tires, 'cuz her lean angle uses up all the tread on the 150. But, after looking at that brace. . . . 150 it is.

If you really want to try the wide tire, it is easy to make a new brake tension arm from a 3/4" wide, 3/16" piece of flat steel bar stock that will be more than strong enough and give you more clearance.

I did this for my FJR when I ran darkside.

I thought the Starbucks card was OE. . . .
BMW is waaaay too tight to do that. Maybe a dealer offered coupon for ONE free coffee, black, no soy. :D

They probably don’t have too much money left after buying a BMW and going through the BMW farkle list and paying the dealer for servicing, they probably can’t even afford a Starbucks coffee!
LOL. I rode a Beemer R1200RT for 37K miles. They are nice bikes but as you say, maintenance is crazy expensive. That is one of the reasons I traded when I did. I was looking at $1,000 bill for just a few item of maintenance. I put the money towards a ST instead.

I don't know how anyone can drink Starbucks coffee. It is burned water as far as I am concerned. Twinnings Earl Gray tea all the way baby! :)
