That is correct. Many got good deals when we pre ordered a long time ago. Those that waited past the pre order dedline and now are looking for the few extra units available are probably not going to find those deals.

Just to report in...

My Super Tenere - a blue one - arrived at my dealer's at around 1:30 this afternoon, and he e-mailed me at 2:07 to let me know it was there. Here's what he said:

"Your bike arrived at the dealership about 30 minutes ago. Normally we get a call when we have units sitting in Dallas, but apparently this was a different situation. Anyway, we won't touch the bike until tomorrow morning as we have a few other units currently in the prep process. I know you want to be here for the uncrating, so plan to be here around 10ish tomorrow."

Interesting that it seems a lot of these S-10's are hitting the dealerships with no shipping notifications or warning. Anyway, I'm glad it's here.

Oh, and I ordered mine on the first day, September 1, 2010.

Just glanced over and my message machine was blinking. G says they expect the bikes there between the 15th and 17th and he should know more solid info by the 5th. I haven't had an email from them for a little bit. Long Beach prolly got the bikes for EVERYBODY ELSE and are still waiting on Kalifornia's bikes. I was kinda sorta figuring Kalifornia would either be the first bikes off, or the last.

I think I was told the same thing, expect another call around the 5th. When I heard the 17th, I target fixated on that date. Guess the CARB emmissions equipment are the reason all the California bikes are being shipped out later.

Larsons in Cambridge MN has my Raven on the floor. Going to go fetch it tomorrow.

The blue ones are so much slower he had to uncrate it first to give the owner a fighting chance!

Big drought working here (was anyway) hasn't rained in what 45 days, 30+ days over 100F! Yep you guessed it, new bike in the garage and pouring down rain outside.

I got the GPS mounted, wired direct to battery and did the Wasp mod to the poweroutlet on the dash, wired 2 prong SAE trailer connector for my autocom when the tankbag gets here.

Now we are starting to get some bikes in the shops all over, sounds good.

Just got notice from my dealer in WV - my bike will be ready to pick up Tuesday. Fan-bloody-tastic. My conundrum now - do I go get it Tuesday, or wait till Friday which is a non-work day? It's a 3 hour trip from here so essentially means taking the day off work.

I GUESS I will wait till Friday - after all, 3 extra days isn't going to kill me, and it's less than 1% of the time I've already waited.

But then again, I might change my mind by Tuesday!

Me too. Larry said he had five crates coming in and one of them is mine. ) So glad I ordered by in September.

I'm planning to leave work at noon on Tuesday. Go home, grab my MRA windscreen and should be leaving my house around 1:00 for the 90 minute ride to Romney. Trevor, let me know if you need a ride over. Meet at my house and we'll go pickup some bikes.

Just goes to show ya' there is no rhyme nor reason to the VIN's in relation to order date, order number, or delivery...

IIRC, HoebSTer, you ordered your S-10 on Sept. 22, 2010, and your order number was 158806, and you're going to get bike # 000323 but it's not at your dealer's yet.

I ordered my Super Tenere on Sept 1, 2010 - three weeks earlier - and had an order number of 155967, and my VIN ends in 000399 and it's on the ground at my dealer's.

Understand, I don't care who gets what number when. Mine's here. Just pointing out that there doesn't seem to be any sort of hierarchy relationship between ordering and delivery.

Please understand, HoebSTer... I wasn't trying to give you any flak for posting your VIN. In fact, I was glad you did. It proved out what I was thinking about the deliveries vs the order dates and numbers - i.e. that there wouldn't be any relationship of one to the other, much like when I ordered one of the so-called "First 750" of the Harley XR1200's back in '09.

And don't feel too bad... My S-10 is here, in the crate, and on the ground at the dealer's, and he wanted to put it together in the morning so I could pick it up. Unfortunately now circumstances on my end have conspired to make that an impossibility, and I probably won't be able to get the bike until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week!!! :'(

Oh, well... At least they are going to leave it safe in the crate for me until then, so I can watch it being "hatched" when I get there.

Congrats Tiger_one! I have a question.....I'm traveling around 600miles to pick up my new blue s10 and my son-in-law works for Penske and can get me a cargo van very cheap. Could you possibly tell me the height of the bike at it's tallest point? The manual says 55.5in but not sure of their top point of reference. Your help will allow me to go ahead and book the van if the s10 will fit. Thanks!

DD did you call Larry or did he contact you? I was an early Sept order and was his 5th order, called him yesterday and he didn't know anything he would call me when he knew something.

dirt-dad, if i had to guess, the last 6 numbers of the vin are the units built for this model. I am not positive on this, but, ah hell sounds kinda good!!! Is your vin then 000110? where as mine is 000323 ??? Yammie might mix everything into this, but again who the hell knows???? We couldn't even get a date of when the bikes were being placed on the boats let alone this info!!!
