So, ran across the Road of Bones thread over on adv....looked into the tour group and almost shite myself when looking at the price....with bike rental, tis near $50k ???

Seems i am always in the wrong place at the wrong time for investments
Nevertheless....maybe one day someone will pay me for something i enjoy doing :p

I have the same reaction to the pricing for most tours. Definitely out of my league!! On the other hand, aside from the guide's knowledge and experience from having done the tour before, I'm not really sure I want to ride on a trip like that with a bunch of other people. Something about going on a trip like this and having a semi fixed, predictable itinerary is a turn off.

Aside from the major hurdle of pricing for most tours, I have been turned off seeing the small amount of miles they ride each day. Granted, my midst came from past years when most of my riding was pavement and pounding the mountain twisties, but to only ride 250 km a day when I pay thousands of dollars to fly to Europe? I don't think so, I want to see as much as I can in the limited time I usually have available to take a trip. Well, that was years ago. I don't think there will be a time in my near future (18 yrs) I will have to do something like this until my daughter is out of the house. Heck by then, she will probably be living with us till she is 30 if the job market keeps on track the way it has been lately for our youth!!!
