I'm betting they layed down some sand on Stove-Prairie also.
Be careful and let us know...............
Did you map out a route?
pretty much just buckhorn canyon to stove prairie then up 14 to walden. I'll get some screenshots together tonight. it's a route i can about do with my eyes closed.

Any thoughts about looping up to Woods-Landing, and taking the 10/103 back to Hwy-14 at Chambers Lake?.
It's all easy dirt-road through Ranch-Lands.........
Also, where would the meetup spot be? and what time?

yeah i'm open to that assuming snow and ice is minimal. I've put that on the map. if it is looking sketch we can go back the way we came.

I'm thinking 10am start at JJ's, just to give the roads time to thaw.
I'm gonna pre-run up to cameron pass anyway friday morning just to get an idea what we're looking at. They usually plow pretty well up high and it's been warm this week.

JJ's is corner of taft hill and harmony road. big gas station right by the foothills.

here's a very ugly link. no idea if it will work.

Link worked fine.
JJ's it is!
Should be a nice enough day..........Probably a little chilly in the morning. I'll wear my long-undies!
If there's a lunch stop in there somewhere, I know Woods Landing Resort has a Cafe that's open 11am-8pm.
Walden would be an option too, but I don't know what's there..............

Antlers inn in Walden isn't bad. I wish they still had the cheese curds, but they've still got chicken fried steak.

so who all we got?

Skunkworks
Robbie W

tried to get my squid buddy with the aprilia in, but he's gotta buy a new furnace or some boring thing. he was gonna bail on the gravel portion anyway.

I am gonna pre-run part of this tomorrow, but more to help us navigate it safely than anything else. I don't think there will be any reason to cancel the ride; should be mid 50's in Walden by the time we're up there.

Good ride for sure!
I had a great time, and it's likely to be my last ride of the season............(you'll see why at the end)

Poudre Canyon never disappoints! and Stove Prairie is always good fun (aside from the sand)

Total ride for me was just short of 400-miles (and Robbie too)

Temps weren't too chilly, but I layered-up. I wasn't cold at all.........

Lunch at the Antlers Inn was good.
They have a pretty decent Rueben!

We rode out to Lake John for a little more exploring.

Made it home safely after dark, right around 7:00pm

I will have some maintenance to perform though............................
The bike needs an oil-change, and the Final-Drive output seal attended to (I already have the new seal tucked away in the garage)
This one lasted a bit over 46,000 miles.

I took a bunch of GoPro footage of the ride, so eventually there will be a video of us released...................

PS: To the person riding the Red Super-Tenere that we passed on Hwy-14, feel free to join up with us sometime. We'd love to have you along!

No help needed, but thank you for the offer.
I have the bike currently tucked in the Garage, with the prospects of doing some "Winter Maintenance" on it.
I swapped it around with my FJ1200, and rode that to work today...................It's supposed to be in the mid-70's this afternoon!
Gotta ride what you can, when you can!
