Hi Folks just wondering if the clutch basket is worth upgrading to the gen.2,I seem to notice the 3-3.5 RPM vibrations are getting worse.

Yes. Was the single biggest improvement to my Gen1 bike. Night and day difference.

The basket ordered should start with PN 2BS.
while awaiting the part, ensure you have a torque wrench that goes to 130nm and a clutch holding tool. Don’t forget, there is no need to drain the oil to complete the job.

just looked on fowlers bristol clutch basket is saying 2BS-16150-00 £700 odd pounds but says comp is that basket or complete clutch

Well worth doing it transforms the bike iam in the UK ordered the basket from a site called japbike parts in china it was £256 pound genuine yamaha part had to pay £53 import tax at the parcel force depot but the part was still 400 cheaper than fowlers or cmc yamaha, the basket took 8 days to come but had full trak

You can get a basket shipped to the states from WeBike Japan for $327.00 I read a lot of reviews on WeBike before I decided to try them. I got a $170 belt for my Honda scooter for $104 shipped from Japan. It took exactly seven days to arrive.

I would have it balanced if possible; plates springs basket together
It's not a balance issue. The old baskets have springs and wants to grenade on you. The new basket has rubber dampers instead of springs. Yamaha knew there was a problem. That's why the redesigned the basket for the 14 model. Should have been a recall.

Is this the time to do other upgrades to the Gen1 motor? "While your in there" type of to do list? Just ordered the clutch from Japan

IMO, if you still have a 23P CCT, it makes sense to change it over to the 2BS updated item. Or, a manual CCT if that’s your thing.
