on a 2012 Is there a n adjustment for the clutch? I noticed this morning the clutch is grabbing near the end of the lever throw. In other words I don't have as much slip range and I use to. The clutch itself when engaged does not slip. Could it possibly need a flush? I did one about 5K miles ago when put on longer lines. Bike only has 16K miles on it so I doubt the clutch is worn.

Thanks

Just a guess, but if I were you try bleeding the system. Clutch adjustment is not required or available to you, unless you are hard on the clutch (excessive slipping, using as a hill holder) then the clutch should last many more miles.

Good Luck

Thanks I doubt its worn clutch plates unless there is some other problem causing excessive slip. . I'm not hard on the clutch. I'll try bleeding it and see if it improves.

My clutch just barely starts to grab half way out and really catches at 3/4's out. It has always been that way since I rode it out of the dealership. These bikes have a short friction zone, that is all there is to it.

If you really want, you can flush your clutch fluid and then change your oil and see if that helps. I will guess that it won't make a huge difference though.

::026:: For Mobil 1, I have used it for years, no problems.

The Yamaha does have a short release clutch. I have looked into the Barnett clutch upgrade, which changes out the diaphram spring for six individual springs. The springs can be changed to arrive at the clutch pull you want, need. If pulling a trailer I can see were this product could come into play.

Good Luck
