A mate has his own fabrication CNC metal shop here in China, makes all kinds of bits and pieces for export all over the wobbly planet, anyways he made a few different bottle brush type items, with various sized bristles with both bristles and the handles at various angles. He fabricated these specifically in a small number for just the purpose of cleaning wire wheeled rims on motorcycles; which he and I use on our wire wheeled Dragstars which seem to work well. Another idea is to get yourself a small leather belt/strap, like a pet collar that you attach loosely to the hub, so when the wheel rotates the pet collar moves about the hub helping to keep it clean.

After making the previous smart-alec remark, I went out and hooked a hose up and fetched a bucket of soapy water.

Soaked her down and let it sit. Then soaked her down again and all the clods fell off!

Little sponging and soft brushing and rinsing, I let her idle until a full temp cycle completed.

Ok, I admit it......I think she is smiling.

But just like after washing the pups, I think she is ready to roll around in the dirt now.

TOMORROW!

On a more serious note I'm a big fan of S-100 cycle cleaner, spray on and hose it off,a soft brush and a sponge for the really nasty stuff. HondaBrite is the same stuff.
