The motor makes a fairly loud clacking sound when at high speeds can't really decide if it's normal or not. I think my Alt plate might be an amplifier of the sound. I wondering if it could be a cam chain tensioner. But I'm not real sure. Bike has 22K 2014 S10 leaving Saturday for a trip. But this motor has made this sound for a very long time. I was reading a different thread and saw some talk about cam chains and wondered about mine...thoughts please and thank you.

You already know that the Gen1 bikes had an issue with cam chain tensioners and that your Gen2 should have had the replacement CCT. (The very recent thread probably was about a Gen1 bike.)

You already have learned that these engines are inherently loud and sound like they have a rattle, plus that it is amplified by a skid plate, and you have one of those.

Beyond that, there is really nothing more that can be said or done over the internet, beyond suggesting that you get somebody to look at it in person. Not much of an answer, but trying to be as honest and helpful as possible.

Compared to my KTM 690 duke, the super 10 is a silent electric motor. if you want to talk noisy engine, the LC-4 motor is tops. yikes.

I did not know you owned one of these. Is it a recent vintage, a-la India mfgr?

Hey Checkswrecks I'm a bit new and have been trying to post stuff in the appropriate spot after seeing you move them. I looked but I'm still getting it wrong from time to time and wanted to thank you for your efforts. I'll get better and work harder on my part.

ha ha - Really appreciate your noticing and trying. It helps everybody later, when any of us are trying to look for something specific.
