Sweeeet.
It's definitely my favorite color.
Ok, you can spend weeks reading everything you think you need to know and worry about.
Let me save you the time:
Check your spokes.
Ride it.
At 600 mile service, sync your Throttle Bodies.
Check your spokes.
Get it filthy.
Check your spokes.
Once you get no loose spokes, you are basically done worrying.
Now check your headlight harness at the bulb connectors.
Make sure the black plastic housing around the female blade connectors does not interfere with the connectors. If it does, file the black plastic out of the way.
Then squish the females down a bit so they fit nice and tight on the bulbs. Add a little grease.
Then ride.
You have just addressed the only 2 issues that amount to actual Tenere problems.
Only other issue is the occasional "hard start".
Don't ever start the bike unless you are going to let it run long enough to reach 140F.
And try not to let your finger release the start button before the bike starts.
And if it ever does fail to start, hold the throttle WOT until it does.
I just saved you HOURS AND HOURS of research!
So now you can just ride.
Oh, one last thing.
Ignore the noise this motor makes. It's a box of rocks to some folks. (Sounds fine to me)
Just ride. It takes forever to break in. Maybe 6000 miles. Gets smoother and slicker and smaller and lighter.
Did I say get it dirty yet?
Set your traction control to 2 if you have smooth tires, or OFF if you have Dirt tires.
And don't worry about ABS off road. It works. Better than your brain says it can.
Hmmmm. What else?..........nope, thats it!
