Just back from a 1,470 mile ride through AR. One the second to last day of my trip on the Talimena scenic highway I noticed that I lost the right handle bar end weight and bolt through the hand guard :(

Hopefully warranty will cover this. Will need to visit with dealer soon.

Anyway, be sure to check these bolt and others on your own bike so you don't loose part like me! ::026::

I've lost bar end weights on everything from ST1100's, GL1800's to DL1000. NOW, I check them before every trip!!

I'm positive I have a few loose screws. I don't even need to check. R ::012::

Lost the bolt from the right side, somewhere on the road on the day I picked the bike up. Luckily the end weight didn't fall until I came to a stop, and I happened to hear it fall. Both sides now have medium strength thread locker.

I see a common thread here (pun intended ;D) The end weights, front wheel ABS sensor and fender are all items installed by the setup person. Good idea to check all of these.

I've found several loose bolts and screws and have been blue loctiting most of the screws and bolts around the bike. Did similar with the Strom after losing several (expensive) screws off the body plastic. I guess that's one advantage to washing your bike....even though I loose street cred down at the Starbucks..... ::025::

I've had mine in so many bits that I suspect I've tightened everything that may have come loose. ::)

+1, 1st thing I did when I got the bike was go over the things that occurred during setup. Found a missing fender 'sleeve?' bolt and the brake lines were not in the guides.

oh... whatever you do, don't take the handlebar weight bolts out without shoes on... my big toe still hurts and I may loose that nail. ::025::

That's the same point I made to my dealer who quickly backed off from his statement that he wouldn't cover the cost of a new bar end weight and screw and sleeve. Now he is covering the cost ::022::
