The feature of Using the rear brake first disabling the rear ABS seems like a feature I’d rather not have but then again I’m not a serious off road rider, maybe that feature is more important to those folks ?

Having the "rear brake only" feature is, to me , greatness. It allows for full, bar lock, turns to be made very easily, since you're not fighting the front wheel. Generally one will only use it at slow speeds in tight turns. Or at high speeds, when you need to trail the back brake just...a...little...

I agree, the Beemer is a great bike. I came from an RT to the S10. That being said, I still see nothing wrong with the S10. If I wanted to REALLY nitpick, I could say the Beemer has a heated seat and the S10 doesn't and the S10's external temp gauge needs to be relocated.
Here's your seat heater kit complete with harness and switch for $23.98. Since I just saved you$3,272.02 you can send my 10% to ....

Have you had the front brake lever light switch recall done?

Yes, also checked the breaks and the clutch had enough gap to not trigger the "CC Cancel" command. Just checked the CC fuse and it was ok... don;t know what to do and I'll hate to take the bike to the Yamaha dealer...
