Hello folks just bought my used 13 tenere w 12k miles and decided to change out to the 14 cct it was a rattling a bit. I removed the clutch cover and zip tied the chain in 2 place after turning and aligning crank position to k to the case.

Removed the tensioner slowly and pulled it out. came out with out any problems. so i put the new one in and smacked it and set the tesioner. verified that the tensioner slider/arm was solid. and removed the zip ties and turned the crank by hand didn't hear a single thing wrong.

so buttoned it up and turned it on to see how it went. and code "14" popped up and can't get it to go off or start the bike.

checked the manual and says " Intake air pressure senor hose" page 8-38/39 did the diagnostic and still won't change anything.

checked the hose and sensor cannot find what is wrong. and i can't seem to delete the code or don't know how to do it properly.

please help, and a big thank you in advance.

Well pulled the cam cover. And the cam had slipped a few links. Im guessing i didnt do any damage because when i spun the motor by didnt hear or feel anything weird.

However the cam cover is a pain in the ass to get off. And getting the seal to sit right tool forever even with some dabs of silicone to keep it place.

Put it together and fired right up. I dont hear anything funny so lets hope and pray notbing is damaged.

So thats my stupid story...

I did a similar thing on an old kz650 I was rebuilding. I was rewarded with bent valves.

Thank you for messing up, to give appropriate caution to the next guy.
Glad it all turned out OK in the end, other than the major hassle involved.

Did you crank it over by hand before trying to use the starter? Or put it together than tried firing up?

Ya sucks but someone has to be the one the lesson was taught to. So others can learn.

I just hope and pray nothing serious has been damaged.

Rolled it over with the kicker and it was ok. When I used the starter, it skipped a couple cogs. I either wasn't on the crank sprocket right or my CCT wasn't put on right. My bad either way.
