I know as a full grown man I can choose to ignore any topic, but the talk about the CCT is everyday the same old saw.
First, a manual CCT fails in so many ways I can not understand why people flock to this.
Fail #1. Are you a good enough tech to know what is the correct chain tension?
Fail #2. What is the chain slack at operating temp, did you set the slack at temp or just room temp?
Fail #3. If the manual CCT is so good why doesn't Yamaha save a few dollars and put in place at the start.
Fail #4. If Oil pressure controlled CCT is bad why don't cars have manually adjusted valves?
Fail #5. Some have stated that the engine runs more quite, Have you ever listened to and engine with manually
adjusted valves run quite? If you have an air cooled engine running quite after a valve adjustment, maybe they are
set to close and go to zero gap as the heat goes up.
While I could give two hoots as to what you do, it bothers me that so many jump on a subject with little or no practical experience. It's your money, but if you think you are so mechanically inclined why do so many allow an oil pressure controlled transmission shift your car?
End if rant. ::021::
