SilverBullet, most CCT's fail during an attempted startup. Mine failed at 52,200 when i was starting it to the dealer to have the valves checked and some service. If I remember correctly another member had his fail around the the same time with 52,200 miles. Do yourself a favor and have your valves checked, TB sync, install a new CCT, replace the Clutch Basket, and have a very nice Tenere returned to you. You will be a couple of bucks but for a very good reason. Ride a 400 mile day and you will feel the difference.

Each of us has different perspectives regarding modifications. I never leave a bike stock, and when I get a bike, I try to upgrade its weak points, because it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to do that. The ST has a known weakness in the CCT, and once I found out about that, I bought a MCCT from Graves Racing, and installed it. I also installed a '14 clutch basket on my 2012, and flashed the ECU.

I totally get the "ride it until you have problems, then fix it" viewpoint, and I am not denigrating anyone who does that. For me, I enjoy the upgrading, and do it on all bikes I own.
