Anyone here ever transport weapons such as rifles or shot guns on their bike? If so, how did you mount them to the bike? I like to ride and I like going to the range. Trying to combine the two things I like to do.

Thanks...

They make handlebar brackets for ATVs that can be used on Motorcycles. Depending on the state, it's legal to transport an unloaded firearm that way. Just put the ammo in the locked side case or top box and you're fine.

I know of a few people that crossed multiple state lines w/o issue that way. It does keep the cagers from crowding you. ::013::

I used to just sling it over my shoulder. kept me from getting tail gated pretty well and I never got pulled over in OR. Worked better for folding stock long guns though.

Check out Cabela's ATV gun & bow racks. You may find something there you can adapt to the Tenere.

I have a CCDW so not concerned with the loaded weapon part. Just curious to see if anyone has ever mounted a weapon to their bike for transport. Thanks for the ideas guys!

I have yet to transport long guns but I would lay then across the back seat so they over hang the saddle bags. If you have a top case then you can maybe strap them to that? I am waiting on my top case so I have yet to play with this idea.

The Kel-Tec SU-16 folds up real nice and fits in a backpack just fine. My handguns fit just fine in my Jesse's and in my tank bag. Multi-state CCW's comes in handy for that.

I ran with a Marlin in a classic saddle scabbard tied off to my right fork leg a few times with my XL600. Sights can take a little abuse, I prolly wouldn't do that with a scoped rifle. Oh, and that won't work on this bike anyway. I'm waiting for some more ingenuity with the trailer hitch ideas. I've pulled for years, it's a great way to increase the versatility of two wheels only.

This is how I take my rifle. I use velcro to strap the case's handles to the passenger grab handle. Nylon straps from the tail rack and another strap holding the front of the case to the inside of the passenger peg bracket.

Hell, Ram makes a mount for that. No, seriously, Ram makes a pistol holster mount for handlebars. Depending on the crash bars you have or don't have, it could be adapted to be part of a rifle or shotgun mount set up.

That's slick. Already got the ball mount for on top of the rez. I doubt the local LEO would appreciate the effort though.

Better be ready to be pulled over by every cop that sees you. The mount really puts your weapon in everyones face.

Not if you mount it on the crash bars... ;)
