Finally got a test ride on a Super Tenere in Tonawanda,NY
No thanks to Yamaha Canada and their stupid static Super Tenere display at their demo rides
Many thanks to Yamaha USA,I can't buy one in the US,but guess where I will be buying most of my accessories and parts
Wasn't impressed or disappointed with the bike, need more time to evaluate properly
It felt like riding big smoothish thumper, at 60 mph it's chugging along at 3000 Rpm,very relaxed
Acceration was good enough for my slowing reflexes and limited skills
Didnt know what Mode or Traction Control Setting it was,I was too excited just to be able to ride one
I never intended to ride it off road, but from the feel of the bike,I will certainly try
Some buffeting from the windscreen
I think I made the right decision in buying one
Please try to make it out for the Charity event and mayb snag a test ride

+100 Thanks for the review. After 3 test ride I have come away with the exact same impression as above. Yet I want this bike more than any other bike I have considered. I don't get it, the strange appeal of the Tenere. It's Voodoo!!!

Actually, it isn't voodoo -- it's value for the money and a very hip dealer network and the reliability that is a hallmark for Yammy.
I believe my short test ride proved to me that this scoot - FOR THE MONEY- without any kinda hype is a very thought out piece of
Japanese iron...well constructed and an incredible loaded value with great ergos' and NO DRAMA.
You think it - it thinks it and completes the task - simple.
It's gonna be a hoot when everyone has them under their collective jeans and can really explain their own feelings.
I cannot wait for it to be under me.

I had much the same feeling way back in the early 90's when I looked at and eventually bought my first Honda TransAlp. Later, after bouncing around on a variety of bikes (mostly sport-touring), I went through the exact same experience with my first V-Strom the next decade. In both cases the bikes were not stand-out "great", but they did about everything well. Fast forward another decade, and I see the SuperT fitting in the exact same mold - only difference is that it will do everything even better.
