Got the new bike 2 weeks ago, everything great except the topmost readout on the dash is stuck on "air temp", and I can't get it toggle through to the other 3 functions (engine temp, MPG ave, instantaneous MPG, as I recall). Supposed to just push the right (#2) button on the lower right of the dash, right? Nothing happens. Tried with key off, key on, engine running, and while riding, still stays at "air temp." Is there a trick to resetting this? Don't tell me I finally got a new Yamaha with a mechanical defect! I did disconnect the battery once to install power for the radar detector and a SAE pigtail for accessories and charging, but everything else seems to work, and button #2 works OK to set the clock. If it's defective, it'll mean 2 trips to the dealer and leaving the bike there at least a week, or however it takes if they need to get a new dash unit. Any help?? Thanks.

Yup, right button should do it... can you feel the same resistance in both buttons? Maybe the right one is just stuck...

Welcome to the Forum vetman!!!! Hope you get the switch sorted out. This is the first we have heard of a problem with this function.

I have had this all apart, the button is a simple rubber insert in front of dash and has a long rubber stem to activate the switch. Since you can set the clock which requires the right button, I suspect the board/solder joint for one of the 4 wires to that switch. Most likely a warranty replacement of dash, doubt dealer will go into it.
