Hey. New(ish) member here. Been lurking, posting, and commenting without doing an intro.
Shame on me.
I’m a former MX’r and Club Racer that took a break from riding after racing. About a decade break. I didn’t feel safe on the street anymore. And living in Oregon... forgive me, but the lack of ‘lane sharing’ and the illegal nature ‘lane splitting’ really discouraged me from riding. The weather does not bother me as much.
So after almost a decade of no riding I decided to get a commute bike in 2017. So I bought a KTM Duke 390. Super fun, but super sh!t ‘fit and finish.’ The 390 stirred the fire so I decided I wanted to go back to club racing. I sold the 390 and bought the R3 thinking I could fool my wife. My internal dialogue said “buy it and build a racer while disguising it as a commuter... she’ll never know!!” A month after I bought it and she asked “what are mirror block offs?” So I sold that. She is a smart lady.
Now I’m on the Super T. It’s fat. Can’t lane split. It’s got shaft drive and TC. Heated grips. Winter is just a word. It’s basically bullet proof and can have knobby tires. And I have room to haul skis.
All is right in the world.
