There is a smoking deal on a 14ES in LA currently.

If you don't live in Cali would you do a fly and ride for a California model?

My understanding is the CA model has an additional charcoal canister and ecu mods. Not sure what mods to the ecu though.

TIA

No ECU difference. Only a charcoal canister and the assorted plumbing.

Alien, is this a 'one of' smokin deal or a dealership offering a smokin deal on all 2014 ES Tenere's?

Flying in to CA would give you many miles on your return trip to enjoy your new Super Tenere.

Something to consider is your return trip is more than 600 miles so you might want to schedule a service during your trip. At least... change oil and filter plus change the final drive fluid.

Yes, if the deal was good enough. If you have air miles for a free ticket, what the heck. I removed the charcoal canister from my wife's CA model BMW. Its easy to do usually and it becomes just a normal vent line then. (or you can use it for a fuel cell)

I would schedule an oil/filter/final drive lube change at the dealer you buy it from (part of the purchase?), then go do a motoman break in for 30-60 miles and come back for the service, then ride it home and do the 600 mile service then.
