Good looking bike! Did you get the helmet?...
sure did. Wore it for one ride, and had the worst pressure spots I have ever experienced. Returned the helmet ::015::

Not bad for a baby second Gen Tenere ::025::
I didn't think it would be a good idea to trade in a perfectly good 2012, and keep the FZ07.
I'll commute, scratch, and do some brisk touring on the FJ, and throw in some fire roads for good measure.
The FJ is a comfortable riot...if that makes sense. STD mode has plenty of go. picks up the front wheel at 6k rpm. A mode picks up the wheel at 3k rpm ::015::

I'll most likely be swapping out the dunlops once they wear out to the avon gripsters, they come in the FJ sizes

I already have a card board mock up skid plate that fits well, now I need to find material to build the actual plate out of.

pics of your exhuast hack please?
I have not got that far yet Martin.
But I basically cut off the tip, which is the first weld.
Then the scientific bit happened. I took my sawzall, and a six inch metal blade, until I perforated the main pipe. I kept making small holes in it, till I was satisfied/tired.
This allows the exhaust to flow from the first chamber directly out. sound is pleasing.
I will take the pipe off a second time, and cut at the second weld to clean up the pipe as I did with the FZ09,and 7.
But I will do things smarter...er by reusing the stock pipe that I cut, and mounting tabs,

Greg, seems to me you're having way too much fun! ::008::

Some FJ-09 owners are bother by the 115mph restriction and have the ECU remapped. How about you?

don't think I got it going that fast yet.
Tell you the truth, I love to turn off the TC button. It's a bit jerkier than the tenere, and really not needed. The ABS is sweet, and the radial brakes none too shabby.
I've basically stuck to STD mode for the time being, nice wheelies at 5k rpm.
Dont think I even saw over 165km/h errrmmmm...95 mpeeeehaaach or there abooots
good fuel economy so far. 5.3l/100km around town.. 44mpg

Properly quick bike, all day comfy. Buzzier than the tenere, but then again I only have 850km on it.
I'll be fiddling with suspension this winter. It gets a bit bouncy in fast corners, so that needs to be sorted.
I have a yacugar from my FZ07 that may or may not fit. Will most likely spend the bucks on full cartridges, as I can't retro fit the existing forks with new valving (rebound on one leg only plus preload...booo boooo!!!!!!!)
Looking forward to the annual USA trip next year. This thing will be riot in California.
A wise man once said...tire grip, suspension to help the tires grip, power last.

A man with a plan..... sounds good to me Greg.

I agree, ergonomics, suspension, tires,............. power is highly overrated.
