Yes stators can be fixed, generally though in small engines like motorcycles replacement is the better/cheaper assurance.
The big question from me would be is there any shop capable of rewinding a stator in Morocco?

Stators are fairly simple in their design. If he can find someone to repair it, and they know what they are doing, then I wouldn't hesitate to get it done locally.

You can also put a good car battery in the trunk and ride until it needs charging then stop and charge it up and go again. I had a friend come from California back to Kentucky that way. If you can pull the headlight fuse that will buy you a lot more mileage out of a charge.

That's a great point as well. I've had to do that myself, though the bike was a bare bones chopper with only the bare essentials so the current draw was much less and the battery much smaller.
If it's about getting the job done and getting home, that's definitely an option.

Assuming the OP is taking the ferry across to Spain and just needs to make it to Tangier, that just might do the trick. I would assume finding a stator in Spain may be a little easier, no?
