I'd like to find out as well. I had that same thought this weekend when I caught myself with the signal on more than once. Never had that problem on a bike before this one.

4 Reasonable Options:

1. Learn to turn off your signals.
2. Install a separate light on the circuit to flash that is brighter.
3. Install a signal-minder.
4. Stop using your signals.

Keep in mind that if you brighten them they will probably be annoyingly bright at night.

It's only lit when turn signal is on . I don't find these annoying bright but I'm not easily annoyed :D

If you're unsure if your blinker is on, could you not muster the effort to push the cancel button? O:)

If you put as much effort into training your brain to turn them off, as is put into this post... You'd remember to turn them off! ::025::

I habitual stab at the switch to make sure they are cancelled.

Other than that, I recall when Honda came out with the CB400 four it had a buzzer that beeped in unison with the turn signals. You can probably pick up a cheap, 12V piezoelectric buzzer from an electronics store and find a good place to stash it, like under the seat. The most critical situation is when your turn signal is on at an intersection (left on from a previous turn), but you don't intend to turn. You should always be able to hear the buzzer in that situation. A more expensive solution, as stated earlier, is the Kizan Signal Minder, but it's also a bit more involved because you have to modify the turn signal switch by adding internal springs.

Something I've always wondered about. My 1981 KZ1100 had self cancelling signals, yet more than 30 years later most bikes still don't have them.
