Finally! Made the deal yesterday, and picked up my brand new 2013 Super Tenere this afternoon ::012:: First impressions after first ride: comfortable, but seat actually felt too soft (didn't think that was possible!). Smooth acceleration, smooth shifting, although I need to lower the shift lever one step. Smooth power, smooth throttle (sport mode). I kept the rpms low but varied. After about 15 miles I actually had the thought: "This is a two-wheeled Rolls Royce!" It was an interesting combination of sporty and comfortable, agile and stable. I loved sittting up straight and relaxed. I am not used to riding behind a wind-screen, but I enjoyed the calm air and the lack of bugs coating my helmet. It was hot, ambient air was 94, so the little breezes floating around the screen were appreciated. Even with the seat in the low position, there was plenty of leg room (I'm 5'11"). Obviously, the suspension was stock from the factory, but I liked it -- cush and sporty. I felt very connected to the road, yet no matter how bad the pavement was (in places, BAD!), the Tenere just keeps moving along smoothly and unperterbed. Man! Why didn't I do this years ago? I have got to go for ride into the mountains tomorrow. Well, lot's to learn, and miles to go before, well, before I have half a clue what I am doing with this two wheeled Rolls Royce/Jeep. Pics soon! ::022::

Get ready. This is the worst your bike will ever feel. The new ones are pretty stiff. After 5K miles they are sooo much better.

Enjoy the ride.

This is so true. I had read this comment many times but was still amazed as it crossed 5k miles and seemed to get even better as more miles added up.

Congrats Archer! Oh. It's not even close to being in any category as a jeep, maybe an FJ Cruiser, just not a jeep!
