Just brought the Tenere home yesterday. Basically 12 miles of riding around the block last night. I come out this afternoon and notice these cracks in the middle of the windscreen. You can tell nothing hit the windscreen, and I can testify to that fact.

Has anyone seen these before? Attached picture.

I'm going to plead my case to the dealer tomorrow. I'll let you know.
The dealer should give you a new screen in my opinion. I have never seen craze or check marks like that in the middle of a screen.
Good Luck

Thank you for the opinions. I agree and if you run your fingers over the scratches they are smooth, obviously an internal thing. Perhaps stress from how it was mounted. I don't know if they do this at the dealer or factory.

Yes, I priced it at $53 here. I'm not going to jump up and down at the dealer, it's in a tough spot to argue unfortunately

The shield is installed by the setup person.

Never seen that before, interesting. If it shows no evidence of being hit by a rock, I would assume the dealer will replace it.

You have only ridden 12 miles. There is a high percentage chance that by the time that is 1200, that screen will not be on the bike anymore.

There are few things to really gripe about on the OEM version of this bike. But almost nobody likes the screen. You would have to fit into a very finite build as a human being to get lucky enough for it to be the right screen for you.

Regardless, look at the good news........

There is also a very high percentage chance that you are gonna love this bike!

Good luck and enjoy.

Those look more like shipping scratches than stress cracks to me. I'm sure the dealer will take care of it. Surprised the setup person didn't catch it though.

YES, I made the list! I'm 5'7" and the screen in the high position works perfect.

That happens to the edges of V-Strom headlight lenses too. Strange though, it's usually age related, and your bike is brand new. It wll be considered a material defect and covered under warranty, so no worries.

Took it up to the dealer this morning and it was no problem at all. They took some pictures and are ordering a new one.

Thanks again for the assistance!

Eh, 12,000 miles on mine, and I don't love the stock screen, but it doesn't bug me either. I would've taken it back to the dealership as well. Glad they are covering it without issue!

Speaking of wind screens: Is there a concensus out there (or at least some strong opinions) on the best non-OEM windscreen to equip an ST with (either "tall" replacement or add-on extension)? Experience with V-Stream, etc.?
