Hi,

Just wanted to mention that I added a public page to my Facebook profile for my photography business.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Blind-Man-Images/293433117365254

It's mostly landscape and wildlife. The page doesn't mention it, but I do enjoy shooting riders:

and am open to shooting gigs at moto events if there is sufficient interest.

Anyway, I would invite you to look in on the page, and give it a "Like" if you enjoy it!

Rod, that is a great pic! You should definitely print and frame that.

I am using Canon gear. It was a very close call between Canon and Nikon when I got my first dSLR, but having built up a set of lenses there is a tendency to get locked in. I have used a friends D80 and I really think the differences are minor. Another friend uses Sony. Lots of good choices out there.

Thank you. Yes, I shoot RAW and develop (post-process) myself. I think it's an absolute necessity. I don't know if this is the place for a philosophical discussion of the pros and cons, rights and wrongs of the matter... let me know if you want my thoughts on it. I'll be happy to share them, but don't want to bore anyone.

Blind Man Images... I am color blind and most of my life had very poor visual acuity. Then it got worse. I got cataracts. Then, after lens replacement surgery, it got better. Now, still colorblind of course (a slang term for reduced color perception... I still see plenty of color, just not all that some others can see. Actually, the degree of color perception varies from person to person and covers a range... color blind just means I am particularly poor at this, or so I tell myself), but visual acuity is reasonable, especially with glasses.

But as I say on the Facebook page, photography is about seeing, not eyesight.

From one colour blind guy to another thanks for the explanation.

Thanks for the compliment and also the suggestions about cropping, etc.

Both my wife and I are shooting with Nikon D90's. Originally I had a D300 and her a D80 and we finally settled on both with the D90. Makes it a lot easier and cheaper when we can share lenses!
