Guess I need tore-start the farkling process again since the bikes will be here soon!

So for my Blue beast, I am buying the AltRider crash bars and skid plate. The question is black or 'natural' (i.e. silver-ish)?

I think the silver would go great with the blue.
I ordered the raven and purchased the raw (silver) alt rider bars from a member here that opted out. I'll keep them silver until I can see what they look like on the bike. If I don't like the silver, out comes the spray can or I'll get them powder coated black.

Does anyone know if the Altrider silver is raw Stainless or a clear powder coat over the stainless?

When I talked to Jeremy at the Long Beach show he said the 'silver' would be the raw stainless (possibly bead blasted for a matte look), but definitely not painted/powder coated.

For anyone that has the 'silver'...can you confirm?

I have the "silver" on order, and that is my understanding from the Altrider website ... the silver is straight stainless steel. That's why it is cheaper than the black. Same stuff, but the black has a coat of paint. R

Hmm, tough decision. I tell you what. Why don't you order both and you try one color and I'll try the other. I'll even offer my demo service for free. :D Seriously some great bars. Personally I'd ho foe the black on the blue bike.

I went with the black AltRider crash bars, skid plate and rear rack for my blue bike. Most of the after market luggage racks are black so I'm hoping this all blends together. But what do I know, I still have ask my wife if my shirt goes with the pants!

I hear ya' on the cloths matching....wife still makes me go back and change before we go out.....thats why when we order a new vehicle, I spec out the options and she does the colors.

I'm kind of leaning towards the silver/natural...all my dirt bikes had/have raw aluminum skid plates....so if it's good enough them it 's probably good enought for the S-10. But I'm still thinking. O:)

Thanks for the info. I saw an Altrider luggage rack at my local dealer for a Multistrada and it appeared the have a clear-coat finish. I think the bead-blast matte finish will look good on the bars.
I already have the black Altrider luggage rack for mine, but have not decided on the bars and skid plate yet. I thought I had more time, but glad I don't now.

Confirmed. I had an email from alt rider regarding the same thing.

Ha ha! My left pinkie finger misses the "a", on the keyboard every now and then. I guess it's my blindingly fast typing skill and lack of proofreading that's to blame.

Bed blasting could be a nice finish if the bike is planning on taking a lot of "naps".

Finally decided on the natural finish for both the crashbars and skid plate.

Just ordered them from Revzilla, they had great prices and free shipping as well!

Ordered them first thing this morning and they are already on their way via UPS!

I got the super fast blue bike coming.... I think I have decided to go with the black bars, black luggage rack, but go with a natural color skid plate. I like the whole blacked out look, but I think I need a little contrast and it just looks right to me on the skid plate. Looks like it is going to be black Jesse's for the bags!

I am so freakin' excited! ;D

That is the route I'm going. I already have the bars and bash plate, and the luggage rack, all in black.
When I get my bike(soon) I'll post pics so you can see what it looks like..

Awesome! Can't wait to see it. The only farkle on order for me so far is a set of Wasp's decals. The rest have to wait for now. I need to get saddlebags first and that seems to be the biggest expense!
