I assume it means that:-

Exhaust should be between 22 and 28, Yours are all at 25 so all good.

Inlet between 10 and 16 and you have 1 in each cylinder at 13 and one at 11.

Don't know if would be advisable to change the 11s given the extra cost

That’s good to know Rob, it’s always been a problem finding someone you can trust with your bike, now I know I can go to someone just a few miles up the road from me:)

Were the throttle bodies left in place for the valve clearance check? I've always removed them thinking it made access easier but maybe not?

Like others said, no adjustment needed. The intakes normally wear far less than the exhaust.

Curious to see your cost breakdown. Did you go in with a total estimate, or just a rate/hr +parts?

I've done all my own work, including a valve adjustment, after the first valve check when the dealer left the crankcase hose off. My wife likes to give me grief about how much maintenance is required (including oil and tires). Good thing I don't have a BMW or KTM.

bike been there a week this time of year in the UK i don,t mind being with out the bike, he asked me to take the bike to him as a bare bike so he did not charge me to remove 2 lots of altrider bars plus wiring for 4 spots etc.
i new it will be expensive to a degree, i wanted the drive shaft removed and cleaned up as its not been off, i wanted the valce clearances done as at 28000 they were due plus brake fluids all round and abs cycle.

so a big job i don,t know how much yet he,s a good honest mechanic thathas done valve services on many ducatis, engine rebuilds etc etc.

he charges £50 a hour labour when i get the invoice with breakdown of whats what i,ll put it on here for you to see, yamaha dealer is 200 yards away from me but i think charge £90 a hour

Actually, he didn't want you hunting him down if he scratched anything. :D

I've got 85,500 miles on my 2014 S10, and have had three valve checks done so far. I didn't record the results of the first one, but the second one (March 2019 55,257 miles) and third one (Sept 2021 84,146 miles) both were the same:

Left Exhaust: .009” .009” (.23mm .23mm)
Left Intake : .004" .005" (.10mm .13mm)

Right Exhaust: .009” .009” (.23mm .23mm)
Right Intake: .005” .005” (.13mm .13mm)

The left intake is right at the limits of spec, but it hasn't changed in 30,000 miles, and for all I know, it was at .004" at the first valve check.

Well, picked the bike up today, got real lucky with the bill, bearing in mind...full valve clearance done, all brake fluids changed, and clutch fluid plus ABS cycled, plus swing arm off cleaned and replaced, plus any corrosion found on the bike prepped and painted. Here’s the bill I had..
