Howdy all. Just reporting mileage on my stock Battle Wing tires. 9879 miles as of today, with a bit of mileage remaining without being dangerous. Can't wait to see what I'll get out of the K60s that I got from Jaxon at RideOnADV. I ride mostly gently. That mileage from the original tires surprised me, based on what I recall reading on this forum. Rode from East TN to Missouri and back today, 700+ miles in 12 hours and 2 minutes. Fun day.

Happy night to all.

Eric in East TN

I am constantly amazed at the mileage you guys get out of tires. For comparison, I got 5,200 miles out of the oem Battlewings. On the k60s I'm at 9k miles and at the wear bars front and rear.

Thanks for the data point, Eric in TN. My S10 came with the EXPs, but I have Trail Wings on the 'Strom in the same sizes.

I replaced my stock Battlewings at about 12k miles. Just put another set on at 23k, but the rear still had about 2-3k left. Front probably had another 4-5k. I kept that set to have as a spare if I need them. I actually really like the Battlewings on this bike.

Have had four BattleWing rear tires. Three of them provided at least 8,500 miles each. The other BW (number 2 in sequence) barely made 4,000 miles. Discovered teh Super Tenere requires an E rated BattleWing. No E rating and you will get crap mileage.

Have had two sets of Michelin Anakee 3 tires. First set was crap, front and rear. The second set was petty good.

Have a set of K60's with about 8,000 miles in the garage and probably will use them but don't know when.

Next week, hopefully, will have a new set of Full Bore M-40's ($184.83 to my door) installed. Want to ride some dirt, gravel, and sand ???

E rated BattleWings are a good mileage and reasonably priced Super Tenere tire.

I have 7,600 miles on OEM Battlewings. Rear is getting pretty worn and am trying to decide if I replace with another set of Bridgestones or possibly Michelin Annakee 3's (or something else) . I'll keep reading the forum to see what others have experienced.

OEM Battle Wing tires 2up how many miles to expect?

We are 2up to C America on a new 2014 YSTenere (non ES)....we plan to buy new tires in Guatemala City (K60) which means we will need at least 5000 miles on the OEM Battlewings. Anyone else ride 2up on this tire? Will we get 5,000 miles? Could put K60s on now but hate to throw away new tires (we will be gone for 2 years).

Everyone's riding style is different so who's to say. With little to no dirt and just spirited street riding I only managed a little of 5,000 miles on the OEM Battlewings. Then again I will be lucky to get 10,000 out of the K60s. I am sure it is partly our roads as well as my riding style.

You're not alone. You are getting more out of your K60 than I ever achieved, but pretty close. It all comes down to riding style. I could make a set of tires last a lot longer than they do for me...but where would the fun be in that?

Short tire life and higher fuel bills are the price of my sanity. Clearly long tire life and lower fuel bills would drive me nuts.

Short tire life is much cheaper for me than therapy. I feel exactly the same.

carrot helped me mount the new k60s this morning...the battlwings had 9676 miles on them , probably could have squeezed another 1000 out of them... front was showing cupping rear just starting to square off a bit , but it had had a nail in it at 500 miles . figured I got my moneys worth... k60s have a lot to live up to... we will see... k60s look good on the bike...

Madhatter , I rode the hill country yesterday with some harley buddies. They were a bit bent to see if the Tenere would pull them and I was happy to oblige. I am running K60's with quite a bit of wear and when I hit 115 mph, it felt like my rear wheel had hit a branch in the road. It hopped like crazy and continued to do so until I let off. Not sure if anyone has experienced that. Real frightening. I checked the tread to see if there was a chunk torn but all was good. I continued but kept it at a slower speed. Cornering was insane for a 50/50 and not once did I feel uncomfortable. We should hook up for a ride sometime. Enjoy the tires.
