I'm thinking of snipping off the leads of my battery tender and going directly into the PC8 unswitched.

Has anyone done this?

It should work. I have a bmw plug on a PC8 unswitched circuit, and I plug my charger into that. So your idea just cuts out the middle man.

Good luck!

While I don't have the PC8... I have the FZ1 I go direct to the battery for the tender AND use the same plug for my heated gear.

Works fine for me!

It will work just fine as long as you use one of the unswitched circuits. I assume you mean to say snipping off the leads of the battery tender pigtail, so you can just plug the battery tender in when desired, but not have those ring terminals on the battery proper. I do this, but with a BMW style power port as my 'pigtail' that I have mounted on the left, similar to the oem location for the cig plug on the right.
